This Japanese inspired garden provides a private, tranquil space for meditation and reflection.

As with all good Japanese style gardens, we 'borrowed the landscape' to create a sense of spaciousness and depth. Simplicity in design and the use of traditional materials and plantings created beautiful, restful views to the outside. At the entry, three lawn and gravel terraces surprise the visitor, with the view changing as they move through the space. Stone seating with dappled shade provides a restful reading place on the first terrace and the gardens on each side of the living space provide both privacy and visual beauty. The traditional western garden, with its linear path, features rocks and moss mounds to create depth while the eastern garden has a more dynamic planting with winding path, small mounds and opportunities for exploratory play or a game of 'hide and seek'. =
